Join Foster Village Charlotte in a workshop focused on being a partner in permanency through shared parenting.
From 3-5 pm, you’ll have the opportunity to connect with others in the village as well as hear from guest panelists from community partners Safe Alliance, Hope Haven, Hope Community Clinic, and Charlotte Family Houses to gain critical information about domestic violence, substance abuse, and homelessness that impact foster care.
Participants will leave the session with new prospectives of familiar cycles that impact foster care, how to navigate boundaries, develop empathy, connect with seasoned foster parents, and feel empowered as a member of the child welfare team.
Childcare is available onsite with an appropriate curriculum to support children's needs.
This session is best for prospective and current foster parents and kinship caregivers!
After the session, stay for a family-style dinner from 5-5:30 pm if your family wants to eat before returning home!
Hosted three times a year (Sept, Feb, June) as part of the Village Bridge Workshop Series
