Coffee for a Cause: Fostering a Community of Advocates
Join us for Coffee for a Cause, a meaningful morning dedicated to raising awareness about foster care in our community. As children and caregivers navigate a messy child welfare system, our volunteers help bridge gaps and remind families that they are not alone through the ups and downs of foster care.
Volunteers put the “Village” in Foster Village, and we’d love to help you find your fit in this village of support. This volunteer training will highlight FVC's volunteer opportunities, specifically our Welcome Pack & On-Call Hospitality Team. As a member of this team, you'll help deliver Welcome Packs, car seats, meals, and other basic necessities to children entering foster care, set up for birthday celebrations at our Connection Cottage, fulfill facility needs, and so much more. Please note this ongoing commitment is flexible.
This opportunity is for ages 18+
Light food will be provided.

Licensing Agency Coffee Chat
Welcome to the Licensing Agency Coffee Chat event! We will spend the first hour connecting, networking, and having discussions around a theme or need. The last half hour will be open to either further chatting and networking or if it's your first time at the center, we would love to take you on a tour and tell you more about our programming.
This in-person event will be held at 4915 Monroe Rd, so mark your calendars and come ready for caffeine and pastries. Don't miss this opportunity to expand your network with like-minded individuals. We look forward to seeing you there!

As children and caregivers navigate a messy child welfare system, our volunteers help bridge gaps and remind families that they are not alone through the ups and downs of foster care.
Volunteers put the “Village” in Foster Village, and we’d love to help you find your fit in this village of support. This volunteer training will highlight FVC's volunteer opportunities, specifically our Childcare & Events Team. As a member of this team, you’ll have the opportunity to help support caregivers through childcare for Foster Village Charlotte’s support groups and workshops and additional opportunities to engage through quarterly family gatherings, parent morning-outs, and more. As this team will have a crossroads with children and families in care, we will require that each member of this team participate in a background check and take part in sensitivity training provided by Foster Village staff.
Parking is available at 4915 Monroe Road and next door behind the stone cottage at 4919 Monroe Road.

Join Congregations for Kids and Foster Village Charlotte for an advocacy-focused film screening and panel discussion on May 22nd, 7-9 pm (doors open at 6:45 pm). The film will begin promptly at 7:10 pm. Your presence is highly valued as we delve into the important topic of child welfare and family support through the lens of the court system.

Gather with alongside other community members to learn more about foster care and how Foster Village Charlotte works to support those in the system. This luncheon event will be on-site at Foster Village Charlotte’s Resource HUB. You’ll get the chance to see our space and learn first-hand how your generosity impacts the Village.

Join one of our two monthly trainings if you're interested in taking the next step in volunteering with Foster Village Charlotte. In less than an hour, you will learn more about foster care in the Charlotte area, Foster Village Charlotte, and how you can make a difference as a volunteer.

Foster Parents as Partners Workshop
Join Foster Village Charlotte in a workshop focused on being a partner in permanency through shared parenting.
From 3-5 pm, you’ll have the opportunity to connect with others in the village as well as hear from guest panelists from community partners Safe Alliance, Hope Haven, Hope Community Clinic, and Charlotte Family Houses to gain critical information about domestic violence, substance abuse, and homelessness that impact foster care.
Participants will leave the session with new prospectives of familiar cycles that impact foster care, how to navigate boundaries, develop empathy, connect with seasoned foster parents, and feel empowered as a member of the child welfare team.
Childcare is available onsite with an appropriate curriculum to support children's needs.
This session is best for prospective and current foster parents and kinship caregivers!
After the session, stay for a family-style dinner from 5-5:30 pm if your family wants to eat before returning home!
