This summer, Foster Village Charlotte is thrilled to announce the return of our beloved "Growing the Village is Sweet" Lemonade Stand Project!
As we gear up for another season of fun, community engagement, and impactful fundraising, we’re taking a moment to celebrate the sweetness of giving back. Join us this summer by hosting your very own lemonade stand to support local children and families in foster care!

A Tradition of Impact:
Our Lemonade Stands aren’t just an annual event; it’s a growing tradition that brings together individuals, families, neighborhoods, and businesses throughout Charlotte with the power of lemonade!
We often hear from supporters, “I want to get my kids involved in volunteering,” and unfortunately, due to confidentiality, we only allow volunteers ages 18+. One day, we received a donation from a young girl who donated the proceeds for her lemonade stand to give back, and it sparked a “sweet” solution for well-intended supporters to get their kids involved in local nonprofits!
Hear What Past Participant Katherine Said:
“This was a wonderful experience, for myself and the kids! I talked to my daughter about her favorite parts, and she said, “I loved how generous people were.” As a mom, I knew the kids would love this and learn so much, not just about foster care but about loving others well. I wasn’t expecting anything “personally” from it, but I have to say, I was somewhat overwhelmed by people’s support and generosity! So many people, some friends, some strangers, wanted to share in this effort, learn about Foster Village, cheer on and encourage my kids about the good they were doing, AND give lots of money! During a season in our world where it seems like so many people are only looking out for themselves, I was renewed with hope by the goodness of others. There are indeed a lot of people with big hearts out there. It was a really special day for our family!”
The Power of Every Cup:
By hosting a lemonade stand, you’re not just part of a fundraiser—you’re part of a lemonade movement!
Each stand serves as a beacon of hope and support for foster children and their families, emphasizing that they are not alone. This project also educates the community about the vital roles we all play in supporting vulnerable populations.
Every glass of lemonade sold supports how we equip, connect, and advocate for kids and families experiencing foster care! Some examples include 1) welcome packs to new foster families, 2) creating unique experiences at our Connection Cottage to support family reunification, and 3) supporting our ongoing support groups and therapy services to caregivers. In the previous summer, over 100 stands helped us raise $35,000, providing crucial support to foster families!
Thanks to our generous sponsors, every dollar raised at stands will go directly to programming!
